I’ve had the pleasure of working with Katherine over the past year to develop Culture Kettle, a radical new think tank for the arts. I’ve been consistently impressed by her intellectual curiosity, professionalism, commitment to growth, and strategic competencies. Katherine embodies the very best qualities of an emerging leader in the social sector. I recommend her highly and feel confident that any socially engaged / creative organization would benefit greatly from working with her.
- Kiley, Research, Strategy, and Evaluation Consultant
It's been a pleasure having Katherine's keen interest and quick learning style contributing to the evaluation team here at OMCA over the past year and a half. Her flexibility, focus, and attention to detail have made her a valuable member of the team. While developing the required evaluation skills, Katherine also seeks opportunities for leadership that are likely to make her an active contributor to the field.
- Mary, Evaluator at the Oakland Museum of California
I had the pleasure of working with Katherine from May 2013 through January 2014. As a communications consultant, she overhauled the way my company communicates with customers and fans of our products. Specifically, she drafted language to describe our products and company, created new promotional materials, managed social media campaigns, and found a better approach to email and phone outreach. Katherine devised effective solutions to problems that my company had been struggling with for years and put us on a new course going forward.
Katherine is smart, passionate, and professional. But where she distinguishes herself is in her drive to contribute something greater than her job description. First, she has the ability and confidence to reframe problems and present creative solutions. Second, she has an awareness of broad strategy and seeks to take on a leadership role. I would strongly recommend Katherine as a part of any organization that strives to do exceptional work.
- Josh, Founder and Lead Designer of Actual
Katherine assisted me at the Exploratorium in piloting the data collection protocol for one of our research projects. She enthusiastically took on a variety of tasks, from coding scheme development to tracking and timing museum visitors, while asking lots of good questions to ensure she met the many, very specific requirements of the protocol. She also offered insightful suggestions for how to improve the protocol and how to clearly communicate expectations to other data collectors. Thank you, Katherine!
- Lisa, Research Associate at the Exploratorium
Katherine has served as a research assistant on several museum exhibition evaluations that I've managed over the years—from recording quantitative timing and tracking observations to conducting in-depth qualitative interviews. With her strong analytical skills, intellectual breadth, and innate curiosity about the world, Katherine is a natural evaluator. She's a quick study and is equally quick to ask clarifying questions to ensure the utmost methodological integrity of her data.
Katherine has a bottomless pit of enthusiasm and interest in research and evaluation. She’s a self-motivated strategist at finding a new perspectives for audience studies and discussing the implementation of new analysis models, equipment, and platforms.
- Sean, Research and Experience Developer at the Oakland Museum of California
I have had the pleasure of working with Katherine as a fellow Board Member of the Bay Area Emerging Museum Professionals. During our time together, I watched her coordinate monthly programming and organize the operations side of the organization. In addition, Katherine spearheaded a regional conference session tailored to EMP audiences. She is always thoughtful and calculated in her approach, which ensures that every effort provides the greatest impact. Although we are now in different states and time zones, Katherine continues to inspire me with her drive, standards of excellence, and insatiable curiosity--qualities that push organizations as well those around her.
- Mari, Former Board Member of BAEMP and Donor Manager for a Theater Company
As the docent coordinator for a major historical exhibit at the Presidio, Katherine was consistently enthusiastic, thoughtful, and well-organized. She was also particularly effective in communicating with the docents as well as in engaging with the public. Her success in managing the volunteer docents, responding to their needs, and making them feel appreciated was demonstrated by the high number who stayed through the length of the exhibit and by the feedback they gave after the exhibit closed. Since this position was a new one in a new space, she also took the opportunity to demonstrate her initiative numerous times in organizing and developing the program, including the collecting and analysis of public feedback and the creation of educational materials. She was always curious, demonstrated a strong willingness to learn, and was a pleasure to work with.
- John, Volunteer Docent and Heritage Center Content Researcher at the Presidio Trust
Katherine is a very personable young woman who did an excellent job coordinating over twenty volunteers, most of whom were older than her parents. She has the ability to facilitate individuals bringing a variety of personalities and interests to a project, and allowed us not to get lost or smothered in what can be a very bureaucratic institutional structure. Katherine was a great listener; she paid attention to the various skills that people brought to the task as well as the reasons we were involved in the project. She was honest in her affirmations and encouraging as the project was winding down.
- Michael, Volunteer Docent at the Presidio Trust and High School Teacher
I have worked for the Presidio Trust over 6 years now. My position is Event Specialist for the Special Events department at the Trust. I met Katherine Nammacher about a year ago when she started her internship with the Presidio Trust. She immediately showed her professionalism when asked to take over a few events that required tedious attention and organization. Her skills in organizing and assigning other interns and volunteers made one of the Trust’s busiest events run smoother than ever. Katherine has strong skills in leadership, organization, and punctuality. She never once showed up late or had excuse to leave work early. From what I remember, she was the first and the last to leave for the events that she worked with me. I strongly recommend Ms. Nammacher as part of your team due to her strong ethical ways at work and her professionalism when dealing with the public. I would make her part of my team in a heartbeat.
- Guillermo, Events Specialist with Special Events at the Presidio Trust
When I started my job at Mike Weiss Gallery and first met Katherine, I was surprised to find out that she was an intern. It was immediately apparent to me that she was someone who presented herself with confidence and ambition. She had only been there a short while when I started, but she was knew the workings of the gallery as well as anyone else there. She was someone I considered an equal and was a team player who was never above doing any task no matter how small or big. She was great at communicating her thoughts and super organized and thorough with any task. She managed her time wisely and knew how to keep a calm air whenever things got stressful. She is someone I valued and counted on and am grateful to have had the chance to work with.

She is particularly talented at compiling research and at presenting a plan of action. I greatly appreciated her desire to move forward and her enthusiasm. Give her a project and she will get it done!
