Web Marketing Intern
February 2012 - April 2012
Monitored web activity on all marketing campaigns, reported findings to Director, and wrote an internal reference manual on Google Analytics. Worked with Director to support daily operations, outreach to clients, exhibition installations and openings, and layout of artist informational documents using Gallery Pro.
Problem
The gallery wanted to understand more about their web traffic and marketing efforts.
The Director wanted to understand where their web traffic was coming from, what would cause it to increase and by how much, and how they could generate more online visitors to their website.
Approach
Using Google Analytics, I tracked the web traffic for the gallery website, blog, and newsletter.
After independently learning how to use Google Analytics, I convinced the gallery owner to install it in all marketing efforts.
I used reports from our web and social media outlets, referenced with press coverage and gallery activities, to find patterns in the web flow. We were able to match up-ticks in traffic to specific activities including internal newsletter, press reviews, and bloggers.
Solution
The gallery had a concrete understanding of when and why their website traffic increased.
I wrote a reference manual on how to use Google Analytics for future efforts.
The gallery understood why online traffic increased, as well as what they would do to create more consistent web traffic.
They also posted more videos on its blog and newsletter because videos generated the most views.
I had the pleasure of working with Katherine on a small team and would highly recommend her for any supportive role. Katherine is a dependable and helpful teammate. She is particularly talented at compiling research and at presenting a plan of action. I greatly appreciated her desire to move forward and her enthusiasm. Give her a project and she will get it done!

When I started my job at Mike Weiss Gallery and first met Katherine, I was surprised to find out that she was an intern. It was immediately apparent to me that she was someone who presented herself with confidence and ambition. She had only been there a short while when I started, but she was knew the workings of the gallery as well as anyone else there. She was someone I considered an equal and was a team player who was never above doing any task no matter how small or big. She was great at communicating her thoughts and super organized and thorough with any task. She managed her time wisely and knew how to keep a calm air whenever things got stressful. She is someone I valued and counted on and am grateful to have had the chance to work with.
